Deadly Sleeps

Rolling around in a deep deep sleep…

Tempted to touch I feel a wicked cold streak,

Down my spine I shutter with fear!

Am I awake, I hear a beast in my ear.

Tossing and turning; I yelp!

Frantically panting for breath; I scream for help.

Sweating like a mule.

I suddenly feel like a fool.

It was only a dream with night sweats.

I could swear I heard the beast whisper it’s dangerous threats!

Alas, soon after the relief…

Death suddenly approached in a 3-piece, you best believe;

Fair is foul,

A painful screech from an owl.

I look down to see blood all around.

The beast never left, it was just unbound!

My intestines on the ground…

My heart racing,

Death had come to chase me,

From this world to the next!

Who knew if this was a dream in a dream or just a test.

I was vexed!

Left perplexed;

Lifeless at best…

Addiction is a deadly contest
